We moved into our home 2 years ago, and the first place we went was to County Flooring. We went other places, and decided to come back, Kelly came out and worked with us to help us make our choices. She was great, absolutely great!!! The first project was in November of 2022, installation went well, our installer did a great job installing the porcelain tile. Three weeks ago we had our bedroom flooring replaced with laminate and we are so pleased the results. The installation team were hardworking and great guys, again they worked all day, the installation was done well, high quality work, and they cleaned up and they moved our furniture back. This past week we had our steps to the basement and the landings recarpeted. Again everything went well, the installation went well, and we are pleased with the results. We highly recommend County Flooring, and their team. Thank you, Kelly, for all of your help, and a big thank you to the installers also.
County Flooring Customer
Tile is one of the most durable and versatile surfaces you can put in a home. The hard, fired surface stands up to heavy foot traffic, paws, and busy households without losing its finish. Tile is also nonporous (in the case of porcelain) or sealed (in the case of ceramic and natural stone), which makes it a strong choice for kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms, and laundry rooms, anywhere a softer floor would struggle.
Beyond durability, tile gives homeowners more design flexibility than almost any other product. The lines County Flooring carries include wood-look planks, large-format porcelain, classic ceramic, marblelook porcelain, and natural stone, in finishes from matte to high-polish. That range is why homeowners across Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Chesterfield, and O’Fallon often choose tile for everything from a small powder room to a full open-concept main level.
A few characteristics worth knowing before you buy:
The right tile depends on the room and how it’ll be used. Our team helps customers narrow the choice based on the space, the household, and the look they’re after.
Ceramic tile
Ceramic is the classic kitchen-and-bath option. Made from clay and fired at high temperatures, ceramic tile is durable, easy to clean, and available in an enormous range of colors, sizes, and patterns. It’s lighter than porcelain and a strong fit for most residential applications.
Porcelain tile
Porcelain is denser and harder than ceramic, fired at higher temperatures with a finer clay, which makes it especially well suited to heavy-use spaces. Our porcelain inventory includes large-format planks that mimic hardwood, marble-look slabs, and traditional square tiles. Because porcelain is so dense, it’s also a frequent pick for homes with active pets or kids.
Natural stone
For homeowners who want a high-end, one-of-a-kind look, natural stone tile — marble, travertine, slate, granite — brings unmistakable character. Stone needs sealing and a little more care over time, but the visual depth and longevity are hard to match.
Mosaic and decorative tile
We also carry mosaic, hex, and decorative accent tiles for backsplashes, shower walls, and detail work. These pair well with a larger porcelain or ceramic field tile to add visual interest without overwhelming the space.
Tile isn’t just for kitchens and bathrooms anymore. With wood-look porcelain planks now common in our showroom, more homeowners across St. Louis and O’Fallon are using tile in living areas, entryways, and even bedrooms. A few rooms where tile really shines:
If you’re weighing tile against carpet, hardwood flooring, or luxury vinyl, our team will walk through the trade-offs with you in the showroom.
