Engineered hardwood

The top layer is genuine wood, so the floor looks identical to solid hardwood — but the layered construction makes it more dimensionally stable. Engineered works over concrete or wood subfloors, which makes it the typical choice for basements, condos, slab-on-grade homes, and any level below grade.
